..::Words and Faces::..

Yesterday I decided to go through some of my pictures that I took an adorable 8 month old little baby a couple days ago. As I was looking at the photos I found one picture that was very blurry but still very cute!

This is the blurry but adorable photo of baby Nevaeh

I sat and stared at the picture for a few minutes, trying to figure out a way to make it useable. And all of a sudden... It hit me!!!! A poem!
I'm pretty good at writing peoms but this time I decided to goto http://www.familyfriendpoems.com and find a peom that went with this beautiful little girl. I found one and rewrote it a bit and this is what I came up with....

I love how her bright blue eyes still stand out in the photo but the blurriness is just enough to not over power the words. I think it came out wonderfully and I'm sure that baby Nevaeh's parents are going to be super happy!

Blonde Hair Buddies

"Mommy, Take a picture of my "Hot Look"!!

My oldest daughter just recently turned 6 this past June. She has always been very much into having her picture taken, She's my personal little model. A couple weeks ago I was outside taking a few pictures when she hollered for me. I turned around and this is what she said "Mommy, Take a picture of my HOT look!" And then she posed............The Photo below is the shot that I got that day, she has an odd look on her face but it was my first knowledge and sighting of my daughter's "Hot Look"

All I could think, was where has Brooklynd seen this look from and how did it get called her "Hot look"! We don't let our kids on the computer so they don't see all those crazy things people put on the internet. She mainly only watches cartoons and kid shows. I had no clue how my daughter had come up with this look and the name for it. A couple days later, she struck a pose again. I ended up with 2 pictures of this new version of "The Hot Look"..... Here is the first one...

Later on that day, it hit me!!!! I know where I had seen the look!!!

The Marilyn Monroe Look!!!!! I am a BIG fan of Marilyn Monroe! Her face is all over my house! My girls like to use my Marilyn Monroe beach towel when they get out of the bath. Then once I went thru my pictures of Marilyn, on my computer, I found this one!

My daughters are Marilyn Monroe's smallest fans!! I LOVE IT!!!!!

My 1st Photography Scavenger Hunt

I have decided to send myself on a Photography Scavenger Hunt to challenge my Photography Skills! I think it's going to be fun! I'm going to make a list off of a few lists that I've seen in the past couple days. I haven't decided on how much time I'm gonna give myself to get these photos done. I don't want to rush things but I don't want the timeline to be so long that I forget to take the right photos altogether! I'm thinking that maybe 2 weeks for a list of about 10 photo subjects may be okay. If I find that I can't get all the photos in the 2 week span then the next list I will give myself either more time or less subjects. This is getting me really excited!! I'm going to start my list right now!! I'll post my 1st list soon, along with the photos that I take thru-out the time limit. I can't wait!!!

Pin-Up Shoot and Sports Shoot

I have 2 big photo shoots coming up and they are both very different than the other!!! I'm super excited to say that I will be doing a Pin-Up Style photo shoot in the beginning of June. A good friend of mine had the idea and we are running with it! So far we've picked out a couple options for locations but are looking for more! We have also found WW2 props and uniforms. The props include crates, dummy guns, netting and much more! We also have a high-heel chair and a '67 Candy Apple Red Chevelle!!!! We have so many options, I'm taking all my ideas and running far and fast with them! A forest with the netting, sexy lingerie with the Chevelle.... On the car... In the car... In the trunk, sexy lingerie with the heel chair!! My plans are to go Location Hopping! Take a number of shots at each location with the props and outfits that relate to the location. I'm also going to try and steal a couple shots with an Ice Cream truck! How cool would that be? The Ice Cream Trucks live right beside my mamaw so I may have a good chance of atleast getting a couple shots of Tawnya with the one! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. oooOOoooOOoooOOoooOOooo!!!!!!! This is so exciting!!! Me and Tawnya are going to have a blast! I'm hoping that after I get this Pin-Up Shoot finished and if it turns out as wonderful as I'm hopping.... then maybe I can do more similar shoots! Taking my photography to the next level is just what this shoot will do, it will add an edge that I haven't had before and I'm willing to take the chance and see the outcome.

The other shoot that I will be doing real soon is a Sports shoot. One of my friends got in touch with me a couple weeks ago and told me that her son's Baseball Coach was wondering if I could take the pictures of the team because the Photos that they normally order, are to pricy for the parents to afford. So I agreed! The shoot is tomorrow afternoon. I've done some research on baseball poses and I think I'm ready. My only worry is getting everyone's name, email matched with the right child! That's why I'm making sure that I get EVERY Parent's First and Last Name, Email, Phone Number, Child's Last Name and the Child's Jersey Number! So when I see the pictures I can match the right child's photo to the right parents :0) I would hate to send everyone photos of another kid that's not their own! What a mix up that would be!! I'm about to finish up the Contact Forms and try and get some copys of my pricing page so I can give them to the parents. I'll let everyone know how the shoot turned out when I get home Tuesday afternoon! It may take me till Wednesday to blog due to all the editing I'll be doing and the amount of photos I'll have. I'll update as soon as I can :0)

Monster Reading

In Candler Elementry School one of the kindergarden teachers uses the little monster finger puppets to help with pointing to each work in a book and learning to read! I think it's a very cleaver idea and also very cute :0) What do yall think about it?
